Farmhouse Structural Design
A weekend farmhouse retreat on a 1-acre plot near Shankarpally, featuring a single-storey spread layout with a swimming pool deck, outdoor pavilion, and covered entertainment area. Structural design accounted for expansive soil conditions and the large cantilever overhangs requested by the architect.

Farmhouse projects present unique challenges — spread foundations on variable soil, large cantilevers for shaded outdoor spaces, and pool structures that require independent movement joints.
We designed the pool as a separate structure with isolation joints to prevent differential settlement from affecting the main building. The 4-meter cantilever sit-out was achieved using tapered RCC beams.

Project Summary

The swimming pool and main structure perform independently as designed, with no signs of differential settlement. The client uses the property year-round as a weekend getaway and event venue.
